Have you ever seasoned your pizza with olive oil before serving it? You could use some rather nice, fun seasonings if you used some special varieties of oil. Even better when they’re homemade! For example, this arugula oil.
It’s worth noting this oil is purely for seasoning, not for using for cooking. The arugula gives the oil an interesting scent and flavor, for when you want an interesting touch for your food. It goes especially well with those recipes with lots of vegetable!
Given the arugula and cheese this oil has, it won’t last for a long time, so we recommend you make it in small quantities. At most it’ll last a couple weeks in the fridge, but in general it’s advised you make only as much as you intend to use in the near future. Without further ado, let’s make the usual olive oil something special!
- 1 cup arugula
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 parmesan cheese
- Blanch the arugula before using it for this recipe. It shouldn't take more than a couple minutes.
- Put the blanched arugula, the olive oil, and the cheese into a food processor, and mix everything together thoroughly.
