You may be aware that in many vegan circles cashews and other similar fatty nuts are used as substitutes for cheese. You may even recall this recipe in particular. So now here we bring a tomato and cashew sauce!
This sauce could be used if you’d like the taste of vegan cheese on your pizza without actually adding the vegan cheese — or if simply you’d like to add cashews to your pizza. It goes especially well with those vegan recipes that need no cheese or cheese substitute to work!
It’s rather easy to make, too. Get your blender or food processor ready, and let’s make this sauce in five minutes, at most!
Tomato and Cashew Sauce
- Food processor / Blender
- 1 cup tomato paste
- 1/2 cashews
- Wine if necessary
- Salt and pepper
- Get all the ingredients into the blender and mix everything together until you get a paste.
- Check the thickness of the sauce. For pizza a thick sauce is the best option, buit you need to be able to spread it on the dough. If it's too thick, add some wine and blend again.
